Welcome Joseph!
We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the new face in our office, Joseph! Joseph has joined the Museum Dental team as a Dental Assistant. If you see him the next time you're in, say 'hello'!

Do you deserve a break?

It has been an especially cold winter and while the days are getting a little longer and warmer every day, the cold can take its toll on everybody. As spring approaches, take time to relax.

It is also a good time to get ahead of your dental care before summer really starts. What better time than now to make an appointment for the whole family?

March is a great time to start getting fit for the summer, so it is appropriate that March is National Nutrition Month and this year, the theme is 'Simply Cook and Enjoy!' Proper nutrition is integral to overall health and vitality. The foods you choose to eat also impact your oral health from the moment you put them in your mouth.

Click here to learn more about Nutrition Month. As always, we encourage you to learn more about your health, and remember that the kitchen is a great place to experiment with new ingredients. Let us know what you think of this month's healthy recipe.

Have a fun and safe month,

Dr. Bulger and the Team at Museum Dental

A Moment with Maria

Your Smile says a lot about YOU. What does your smile say?

If you have ever considered orthodontics in order to enhance your smile, but didn't because you thought you weren't covered under your dental benefits, you might be mistaken. Many dental policies cover orthodontic braces and Invisalign is just another way of achieving the same result without the traditional metal braces.

Here are a few questions to ask your your benefits provider to ensure coverage:
  • 1-Do I have orthodontic coverage?
  • 2-What is the lifetime coverage?
  • 3-What is the yearly Maximum?
  • 4-Is there any age restriction?
When speaking to your insurance company, always ask for the name of the employee and employee number as well as the date and time of the phone call. This is very important because in a situation where you are given the wrong information, the insurance company must pull the recording of the call to verify the information given, once they have proof of wrong information they must legally pay out the claim according to the information given.

I recently had a case where I contacted the insurance company on the patient's behalf and was told the patient had one thousand dollars in coverage for orthodontic treatment. The patient went ahead with Invisalign treatment and when the bill was submitted to the insurer, it was rejected. I contacted the insurance company and once they pulled the recorded conversation and confirmed that I was given the incorrect information, a cheque was issued and mailed off to the patient. This would not have happened had I not documented the date and time and employee I spoke with.

So the next time you look at your smile and it isn't saying what you want it to say, speak to us at Museum Dental for your consultation regarding Invisalign

Maria

Guilt-Free Comfort Food

A big bowl of pasta makes great comfort food. Who can resist rich pasta topped with a thick and creamy sauce? And despite how delicious this recipe is, there's no reason to be afraid of carbs and calories. This Brown Rice Pesto Pasta is complete comfort without the guilt!

Pesto is a fun, easy sauce to make. It is full of chlorophyll and protein. The miso and pinenuts give it a "cheesy" flavour. Pesto tastes great on anything from brown rice pasta and quinoa, to homemade pizza crust, on wraps or simply as a dip for veggies. If beans are added to this recipe it will give your pasta a hearty boost of protein and fiber and make each bowl of pasta more filling!
