CIBC Miracle Day
History
In 1984, a single Wood Gundy branch decided to donate their commissions for one business day to children's charities. Their generosity has grown into what is now called CIBC Miracle Day, one of Canada's largest one-day corporate fundraising events devoted to children.
Each year, on the first Wednesday in December, participating CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors and CIBC's wholesale banking staff donate their fees and commissions to children's charities. This year, the CIBC Children's Foundation will donate $4.5 million to 125 Canadian communities. Since its inception, $69 million has been raised across Canada and $219 globally for children's charities, through the support and generosity of our clients, employees and friends.
Become involved
In December the Smith Falconer Financial Group will be donating a portion of your Portfolio Partner fees to help raise money to make a difference in the lives of children in our community. For those of you who are not enrolled in Portfolio Partner and are planning to do any tax loss selling before year end, you may want to consider initiating these trades on December 4th in support of this cause.
Local benefits
All commissions that are designated and donated through our branch will be dedicated solely and entirely to children's charities in our community, which means that local charities you may be familiar with are the recipients of the funds raised by the Symphony House branch.
