Duty of Care remains the primary concern of Carey International when providing our chauffeured services in more than 1000 cities worldwide. We have built our reputation by putting the safety and welfare of both our passengers and chauffeurs at the forefront of everything we do. As a global company transporting more than one million passengers each year, when a potential threat, such as the COVID-19 virus presents itself, we have a responsibility to act.

 

Our Approach

We are monitoring reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and government agencies to stay updated on the evolving situation.

 

Reducing Risk

According to the most recent guidance from the CDC, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low for most people. However, in an effort to reduce the risk to our travelers and chauffeurs we have taken the following steps to mitigate the potential spread of the virus across both our Carey and Embarque brands:

  • Distributed updated training materials to chauffeurs and other employees highlighting CDC guidelines for controlling the spread of viruses.

  • Suspended the placement of periodicals, marketing materials and consumables like mints and candy in the back seats of vehicles. Carey will continue to provide beverages, but under new handling and storage procedures.

  • Stocked individual units of hand sanitizer in all of our vehicles for passengers to use and take with them.

  • Supplied Clorox® sanitizing wipes with instructions for chauffeurs to wipe down all shared surfaces after each trip.

  • Enacted new emergency standards for vehicle cleanliness and disinfection protocols during daily and weekly upkeep as well as increasing frequency of vehicle inspections.

  • Established an executive committee to assure all of the above activities are fully implemented in all of our locations worldwide.
